Search Distribution List from outlook in powerapps.

Hi All,

I am using a customized form option in sharepoint online to create a form using power apps.

I have a people or group field in my sharepoint list and by using the default sharepoint form I am able to search all the distribution list in my company.

But when i used the customized form by PowerApps, i could not search any distribution list from the search box for that particular field.

Would appreciate if I could get any advice to solve this issue here.

Hi @Isaac_LTS ,

The combo box in canvas app for person column will not show the person list by default. You need to input some key words in 'find items' and it will show you the list of search results.

Hi @v-bofeng-msft Bof,

Let me provide an example for better clarification to my issue.

Below is the sharepoint default form I used to fill in the details.
So using the default form I was able to search distribution list that are in my company.

But if I switched it to customized form using PowerApps, I am not able to search any distribution list as per below.

Let me know if you have any guidelines that I could follow to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi @Isaac_LTS ,

I've made a test but did not encountered the problem you mentioned.

Please consider delete the datacard and re-add it. If the problem still exists ,please consider show me the combo box's items property.

Hi @v-bofeng-msft ,

There is no issue to search for a person like you have shown but my issue occured when I wanna search for a "Distribution List".
You may wanna test by searching any distribution list that are available in your team and let me know the result again.

I have tried deleting and adding back again but same error still persist.
Below is the datacardvalue you requested.

I had encountered the same problem back in 10/2020, on the very first day of a PowerApps form going live. We filed a level 1 support ticket with Microsoft Support, which found out there was a design issue in Azure in that pure distribution lists created in premise and then got migrated to Azure do not show up in the search box in PowerApps. Microsoft has never fixed this problem and I don't think they will because distribution lists created in Azure itself do not have this problem.
