A flow trigger itself

I have a flow triggered by a sharepoint List that must edit the list itself to change the status of the element.

What append is that an other istance of the flow immediatly start if a edit connector is set for the list that is also a trigger.

Is it possible to avoid this?

Is there some control that allow me to disable the trigger on the element until the current flow isnt finished?

    Hi @Emilio,

No, there is no proper way to stop the trigger to fire.

What we could do to prevent the flow to run is to add a condition, then varify if the status field has been updated with the proper value.

If yes, do nothing, otherwise, allow this trigger to run the action after.

Add a condition to a flow

You may take a look at the following thread as an example:

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Using-Flows/Trigger-for-a-field-change-in-a-SharePoint-list-sedning-emails/m-p/64011

The first condition added is used to check whether the field has been updated with value.

Post back if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Re: A flow trigger itself

This basically mean that a flow that is supposed to run 4 to 6 time for a single element will run 8 to 12 times. I can deal with it, but it is quite complicated to set a condition every time that the flow edit is own trigger.

There shoud be a button that let chose to stop the flow from triggering himself in the settings panel.

Can I post it on flow Ideas?

    Re: A flow trigger itself

    Hi,

any news regarding the many self triggers when running a flow. I use Power Automate in Dynamics and upon field change the flow somehow triggers itself even I only trigger on a specific field and a specific state of that field.. It still triggers twice..

    regards

    Martin
