Allow Users to Submit a Screen with Some Required Fields, Not All?

Hi there,

I have a Power App with multiple parts (three screens, with sequential information), with required fields on each of the three screens.

Right now, I want the screens to write the data to the list as they go, in case users need to go back later to edit.

When I try to use the SubmitForm option, it throws an error on the first page because not all of the required fields have been satisfied (since they're on subsequent screens). Is there an easy way to get the app to avoid that error and write the data incrementally?

(The Power App is linked to a SharePoint List, if that helps) Thanks!

Yes, you will need to supply all of the required (by the datasource) fields in each of your forms in order to submit properly.

I would suggest taking a look at my video on splitting forms as it might provide you not only more information on this issue, but also how to split forms properly without losing the functionality of the form itself.

No worries at all. It can be daunting to start!

When you're done watching the video...if you want to get more up to speed on forms in general, I also have a video on EditForms Plus. It's a long one, but will show you pretty much everything you ever wanted to know about forms, plus a whole lot of things you probably never thought possible.
