Virtual Tables not trigger for Flow

Hi All,

I have a very simple flow that involves the virtual table (underlying data source is found in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations). It's a very simple flow but it never runs. I've confirmed that the data in the virtual table on the dataverse does change and so does the underlying data in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations but no luck in getting the flow to run. I've also tried adding a new record or deleting a record but no luck as well in terms of the flow running. I'm not getting any warnings or errors.

Googling this issue leads me to the Virtual Entity Metadata table but I can already the external message fields are set up to yes.

I'm running out of ideas, any assistance would be helpful.

That's interesting that it works for a different environment for you. Do you know what could be the difference?

I've figured it out. The other FO environments were set up via LCM and are hostet with MS. The dev environments of FO are not hosted with MS. Therefor you need to manually configure the connections in FO as well: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/power-platform/enable-power-platform-integration#configure-finance-and-operations-apps-to-use-the-azure-ad-application-to-connect-to-dataverse

You will also have to register an Azure app, user in FO and all of the steps for enabling the Virtual entities in advance ofcourse.

Hello,
does this mean that you cannot use this trigger if the environment is not connected via LCS?

It means that if your FO and Dataverse enviroments are not connected, the triggers will not work.
If you go to the given dataverse-enviroment in the admin portal, you must have the Finance and Operations URL field populated with the FO environment that the Virtual entities trigger from. Otherwise you will not be able to run CRUD operations on them. When you set things up via LCS all is set automatically.
Unfortunately, Microsoft says that you cannot connect the F&O and Dataverse-environments after you have allready created them separately.

I have done all the virtual entity setup according to this Microsoft documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/power-platform/admin-reference

I can see the virtual entities from Dynamics 365 F&O in my Dataverse. I have entity forms on my PowerApps/PowerPages which are able to do CRUD operations on Dynamics 365 F&O data. I have Power Automate flows which also perform CRUD operations on Dynamics 365 F&O data.

The only issue I have is that I cannot create a flow which triggers when virtual table data is changed.
