Hi,

I'm searching for a solution that I could add additional data to already existing columns in my Lists via powerapps.

Case it that Im extraction lots of excel files from other softwares, and Im wasting lost of time adding data from to mv lists via powerapps form (only one row). So I'm searsch for an option in powerapps to select a excel file with single column and upload it into specific ms lists column.

I will appriciate any tips and help. Many thx.

    Hi @dulaa ,

    It seems like you want to batch update MS Lists (SharePoint list) existing items. You could do that using the batch update method demonstrated by Paul Murana here: https://www.tachytelic.net/2021/06/power-automate-flow-batch-create-sharepoint-list-items/?amp

    Paul demonstrates creation of items here but he also has a post about updating items. You need to follow the steps very carefully for it to work.

    Hope that helps you start moving in the right direction.

    @royg thx for tip. I've create a similar flow to Pauls and from other YT Shane (thx a lot ! ).And it use attachment control in powerapps to select file directly from powerapps. But I got 2 questions :

    1. In flow I'm using option "list rows present in a table". So each excel file I want to upload need to have create a table content. I know my users and I'm sure that some of them will forget to do it and they will try to upload a file without table created . Is it possible to change it so that excel file without table created will be accepted ?

    2. At this moment I'm extracting 2 columns from excel file :

    dulaa_1-1693459378963.png

    The "MainID" is connected with other list and I want it to be directly filled by powerapps. So Im trying to replace it with powerapp content :

    dulaa_2-1693459595657.png

    and in attachment item in power apps update code "OnAddFile"  from :

    dulaa_3-1693459746377.png

    To the code below :

    dulaa_4-1693460155922.png

    where DataCardValue38 is the Item that shows the "MainID"of item :

    But after I change it Im receiving an error :

    Can Any1 help me to fix that error I'm 100 % I did something wrong.

    Hi @dulaa ,

    For 1, you can probably use Office Scripts to achieve your requirement of extracting the data from a tableless file or you could change the excel to csv file and that could be parsed rather easily with standard actions.

    For 2, not sure what the problem is, did you try to refresh the connection to that flow in PA? perhaps try removing it completely and re-add it?

    I've create the flow again but still same error msn and on the flow is marks step on create sharepoint file.

    dulaa_0-1693488501152.png

    But in that step I got only :

    in name  - powerapp filename

    In content -

    base64ToBinary(triggerBody()['Utwórzplik_Zawartośćpliku'])

    dulaa_1-1693488712478.png

    I'm wondering If I need to add something that will refer to

    dulaa_2-1693488971296.png

    Any clues ?

    hi @dulaa ,

    It seems you're missing something. Try to follow either Shane or Reza's videos that explain how to pass file contents from PowerApps to Power Automate. The error indicates that the passed parameter is not base46 encoded.

    OK, so I thought that I will add a Step before creating a SharePoint file :

    Add step "initialize the variable "  and set :

    base64(triggerBody()['Utwórzelement_MainID'])

    Then In step create a SharePoint file in content use :

    concat( base64(triggerBody()['Utwórzelement_MainID']), binary(base64ToBinary(triggerBody()['Utwórzplik_Zawartośćpliku'])) )

    dulaa_0-1693826649797.png

    Then in on Item prop "OnAddFile" use :

    Set(varShowPopup; true);;

    // Preparing data from the Image3 control as base64 binary data
    Set(varDemofromAtt_cont; JSON(Image3.Image; JSONFormat.IncludeBinaryData));;
    Set(varbase64only; Mid(varDemofromAtt_cont; Find(","; varDemofromAtt_cont) + 1; Len(varDemofromAtt_cont) - Find(","; varDemofromAtt_cont) - 1));;

    // Preparing the data for the "manual" trigger with a number (change it according to the expected scheme)
    Set(varManualTriggerData; DataCardValue38);;

    // Calling the Test_upoad_2.Run function with a number
    Test_upoad_2.Run(
     Last(Att_cont_1.Attachments).Name;
     varbase64only;
     varManualTriggerData // Passing data to the "manual" trigger
    );;

    Reset(Att_cont_1);;
    Refresh(Listy_Kontrolne_Wagon_Zlecenie);;
    Set(varShowPopup; false);;

    Well still Errors :

    refered to :

    dulaa_2-1693826743481.png

    Well I've create again all from the scratch, and now it works. I dont know why... I've made same steps as usual no changes and now it runs oO . Either  I have no clue why once a flow is created and then updated to different values it does not work.

    I'm not touching it in order not to brake it 🤣
