Power automate get attachment V2 (o365 outlook connector) is not recognize the .EML and .MSG format files

I'm trying to export the .EML and .MSG files from email. Power Automate only recognize the particular file format such as .pdf , .jpg, .xlsx etc. so instead of using get attachment connector I've used send HTTP request connector to get the attachment data. I'm able to process and get the data of the attachments of .EML file but there is difference in time and time zone. Power automate connector is considering the time as UTC not writing the same value .

Can somebody assist me on this issue ?

    Hi there,

To address the time and timezone discrepancy in Power Automate when processing .EML or .MSG files using the HTTP request connector, you should adjust the datetime value using the 'convertTimeZone' function.

Get data from the datetime value from the attachment data. And use 'convertTimeZone' like this example

"@convertTimeZone(triggerOutputs()?['headers']['x-ms-file-last-modified'], 'UTC', 'Your Desired Time Zone')"

Replace these value 'Your Desired Time Zone' and 'Eastern Standard Time'  with appropriate values.

Please give kudos and mark as solution if it helps.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep Mishra

    Hi @sandeepstw ,

    Thanks for your response.

Are you suggesting me to use HTTP request instead of using Send an HTTP Request (outlook connector) ?

If yes, could please guide me as I'm new on using the HTTP connector. If you do have any different ideas please suggest me as well.

This was the actual output I'm getting while using Send an HTTP request to get the actual attachment content.

    Hi @AlexEncodian & @sandeepstw ,

Thanks for your suggestion . Can we achieve it by using default power automate connectors instead of using Encodian's connector?

Yes - if your flow is triggered by a new email arriving, then you don't need to extract attachments from .EML and .MSG files. You can simply use the outlook get attachments action for that specific email.

You want to find the best software to convert EML files to MSG and then use the ToolsBaer EML File Converter tool.
