PAD freezing

i go through my recorded steps, then get an error. when i scan over list of actions, pad freezes

i lose all my steps if i end task in task manager.

Understood. It seems there is an issue with the press button selectors.
You're referring to a web application, correct? Is this website publicly accessible for our testing?

Please follow the below steps:
1. Instead of using "press button in window" action use " Press button in web page".
Drag and drop into workspace.

2. Click on the action mentioned above; a window similar to the one below will open. Then click on the dropdown highlighted in green, followed by clicking on the 'Add UI Element' button.
\
3. Navigate to your web application to activate the UI element picker. Once it highlights(red) your button, right-click and select 'Capture' as highlighted in green. Then save the flow, run it, and check if it works.

it seems the issue was in excel.
but my new issue is opening a file who's name changes on every download.
it's the first file in my download folder. i tried something like get files in folder, then referencing with %files[0]% or %files%[0] but get parsing errors.

Hi @mjlangone !

Try this in the "File Path" section of "Read from CSV file" action (that is incase your file ends with .csv):

C:\Users\mjlangone\Downloads\%Files[0].Name%

Otherwise, that is if the file is not .csv, try the "Read text from file" action and put the same in the "File Path" section.

You no need to append your folder name again in the file path. Please follow the below syntax.

The syntax provided below should work correctly:

%Files[0]%

or

%Files[0].FullName%

If you wish to specify the folder name and append the filename at the end, then the correct syntax is as follows:
C:\Users\mjlangone\Downloads\%Files[0].Name%

still not working, i saw in another post that power fx needs to be enabled?
instead of trying to recreate EVERY step i created a new flow with fx enabled and copied from the original.
will that work?
