Refresh Data Source in New IDE Layout?

Hey all,

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but with the recent IDE layout changes, I can't for the life of me figure out where to find your list of connected data sources in order to refresh them. I'm not talking about having an object in the app with the refresh function, but where you used to be able to see your connected data in the right-hand menu.

The closest thing I have seen is clicking "Data Source" on a gallery object, but my gallery filters are too complex and show the "fx" label.

If I create a new gallery object and label it with the source I want to update, I can see a dropdown list of connected data lists in "data source" in the right-hand menu, but no way to refresh it. I'm confused that this appears to have become a very convoluted process? Thanks for any insight!

Hi @Anonymous ,

At the top of the screen, click "Add Data" or on the data icon on the left of the screen to reveal your data sources and refresh them.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me - it loads up a list of potential connectors, and some connectors I do use at the bottom, but not the actual SharePoint lists or SQL tables. When I select any connector I do use, it just prompts me to make a duplicate connection to a data source.

Indeed when clicking the Add Data option does not allow you to refresh the datasource, but clicking on the Data icon on the left does:

Well that explains it, I AM missing something obvious. I have no data source button on the left! I didn't see your highlight on the left at first, @BCBuizer. If I go to edit a different app, there it is...this is an app I've worked on since 2018 so I wonder if it being that old is causing problems.

Luckily, turning on the legacy toolbar did allow me to see data sources under the View menu so I will have to go that route. Thanks for the help!

The legacy worked for me up until today.. this is crazy there is actually no way to manage the data sources anymore.

That option no longer exists or the option in the previous post!
Maybe Microsoft can explain why there is no obvious way to refresh a data source and why they have reduced functionality?
