Error connecting to on-premise SharePoint 2013 site

I did a search first, but I couldn't find anything related to the issue I am seeing.

I have a gateway running in a VM. It is configured correctly and I am able to access on-premise SQL server data just fine. I am also able to access on-premise SharePoint 2013 lists as long as I am using a http connection. But for some reason, any site using https seems to give a 404 error when trying to connect through the gateway. How do I troubleshoot this? TIA.

Please make sure your gateway has been installed properly.

hi Mabel - thanks for your response. The Gateway is installed fine. We have multiple web applications, some are only http and others are https. I am able to get to sites that have http URL, but not https.

I finally figured out (with a help of a MS PFE) that on-premises https sites are not supported. The gateway always wants to connect to the site with http.
