Coding issue - Photo URL to sharepoint code not working

Hi,

Trying to get this code to upload the image URL on to my linked sharepoint list. I keep getting an error with my code though. Any help is much appreciated, the rest of my code seems correct just this final step with the image URL.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    You cannot patch an image like that and if the destination field is of Image type, it is read-only in Power Apps, so you cannot write to it at all from there. I have a blog on SharePoint image storing and viewing that may assist.

    Please click Accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue. This will help others find it more readily. It also closes the item. If the content was useful in other ways, please consider giving it Thumbs Up.

    Thanks @WarrenBelz. Is there no way I can patch the gallery image URL to sharepoint without a flow? I have previously managed to patch a photo URL when the power app user has taken the image directly using the First function (see below). Looking for a replacement function for First if possible, let me know if not possible.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    If you know the URL (it is already stored) then you can to that, but you might as well link the Library and launch the 'Link to item' which will work fine.

    If you are talking about a newly captured image, the only way to store in the List without a Flow is Base64 Text using JSON in a multi-line Text field (it is in my blog). If you want to store it in a Library, you need a Flow.. What type of field was "Photo" in your list - the URL would not be much good to you on a new photo s it is not stored anywhere yet.

    I initially had the photo appearing on my Sharepoint list but there is a lot of data so it was making the sharepoitn list so slow, I managed to switch this so the URL is displayed in a text only column. This URL is then able to copy and paste into a new window and the photo loads.

    I am just looking to do something similar with an image from the users gallery. I thought it would be as easy as switching the First function.

    @WarrenBelz  Hi, can you break something simple down for me.

    Is it possible for a power app user to upload a photo in to the app then upload (patch) the URL of the photo into sharepoint? I have achieved this when taking a live photo but not through a gallery image. Alll the videos/threads I am finding seem overly complicated and skip key steps which I am struggling with.

    This is my end goal but I feel I have complicated it in my original question. I am still quite a beginner user so apologies for the non-technical language.

    I am attempting the JSON code.

    I am getting confused as to what my image control name/gallery name are?

    @Anonymous ,

    Did you read my blog - I cannot explain it better here than in there.
