I am working on an self-assessment tool that is than reviewed by a preceptor. The issue I am having currently is with the Preceptor screen and reviewing the text submitted within the self-assessment stage.
There are two lists being used; Self-Assessment (List A) and Preceptor (List B). Once the self-assessment form is completed, the preceptor that is selected will receive a link to review the self assessment and fill out their side. The Self-Assessment (from List A) is being loaded based off of the link parameter, then stored into a variable.
Ideally, the preceptor will write their notes in the same text field that the self-assessment was written in. I have it set that if they either continue on the same line, or have a return within the text field, it will only capture the preceptors comments on List B.
However, if they delete any part of the self-assessment text, it throws off the patch and starts the text capture in a negative count, losing some of the text.

Am I overcomplicating this, or missing something obvious?
