What I would like to accomplish is the following...
1. When a user enters a name in a textinput box and clicks a button, the button saves the value in the textbox to a SharePoint list (field name is title).
2. After the name is saved, there is a textbox that generates a message. For example "Hello, (value in textinput box). Welcome to the app."

1. I think what you are looking for, is the SubmitForm(EditForm1) formula in PowerApps. Detailed information and reference, you can try to create an app from sharepoint list connection.
