DisplayMode of edit button: what does each part of the code mean/do?

Hello everyone,

While editing my app, found that the edit button has the following code, in which I had to sometimes fix the DB I use, in code:

If(DataSourceInfo(<myDB>, DataSourceInfo.EditPermission), DisplayMode.Edit, DisplayMode.Disabled)

What does this code mean/do?

    I believe it checks if you have permission to edit in that source. If you do not, it sets the property to disabled (cant edit) mode.

    Does that mean you can make it so some users can edit and others no?

    It's completely based on the DataSource permissions.  If they have Write ability, then they can edit.  If only Read, then not.
