Update a column in a Document Library that has some required columns

I am working on a workflow where I have a document library with about 12 columns.  About 6 of these have required fields.  I want to update one of the columns using Flows.  I am trying to use "Update File" and "Update file properties" to write back a date to a date column in the document library.  The issue I am running into is this is forcing me to provide information on all required fields. I do not want to alter any existing information that the user filled out.  I need help in only targeting the date column I have created from my flow to populate a date.

    Hi!

Since some columns are mandatory, you can perform a  'Get file properties' just before your 'Update file properties'. Use 'Get file properties' output to fill 'Update file properties'.

Unless your trigger is 'When a file is created or modified'... if so file column values are already trigger outputs, so no need to 'Get file properties', just assign trigger outputs to your 'Update file preperties' inputs

    Hope this helps
