Hello all,
Have an interesting issue that I can't seem to figure a way around. I have a gallery with a number of text box fields for inputting dollar amounts. I'm using the TEXT(field,"$#,##0.00") function to display the number formatted as a dollar amount to make it readable/usable, but when I try to sum the values in the gallery or patch the values back to the database, they're coming through as blank values.
I've tried converting the values back to numbers using VALUE(field), and that works in designer mode, but when I publish the app and a user interacts with it, it overwrites the numeric values in the database fields with blanks, losing all the data and the sums are blank.
Is there some other function I can use to convert a formatted value back into a number, both for the SUM and the patch statement? Seems there must be a way to do this, I can't imagine that nobody is using formatted dollar amounts in their apps. It also feels like a bug considering it works in "play" mode in the designer, but not when the app is published and run.
Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Garrett
