Per App Licences consumption

Hi all,

I have an app built on Dataverse. We have 300+ users for whom we have purchased Per App passes and assigned them to the environment. When I check in the admin centre it says the users are connecting using M365 licences (which I didn't think was possible) and I am unable to see the assigned app passes as it says I should in this documentation : Module complémentaire de capacité pour Power Apps et Power Automate - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn I also don't see any added capacity on the environment.

Here is what I see :

I am afraid users will lose access if they are not on the correct licences. Could anyone help me out with this please ?

One thing to note, I wasn't able to set the app to use app passes if available because it's not an option, I only have the option to change to pay-as-you-go and preload the app. Is there another setting I need to change ?

Thanks

    Hello @HFG,

How soon after you assigned the app passes to the environment did you try to toggle this option?

Sometimes the app passes seem to take some hours to be applied before you can actually see the pass assignment option in the app settings.

    Hi @joe_hannes_col ,

The app passes were assigned on Friday (9th June).

I just assigned one app pass to the development environment and now the option is available. It's a shame that this option isn't always available as I now have a wasted app pass on the dev environment that won't be used by anyone. I'll see what happens now in the admin centre regarding the licences being used.

Okay, so initially you assigned the app pass to one environment and then tried to toggle the option in another environment, right?

Unfortunately this is not how app passes work 😕 You should be able to remove the app pass from the environment later though.

    Hi @joe_hannes_col ,

The app was developed in the DEV environment where only I have access and I have a per user licence so I didn't assign any app passes. I pushed the (managed) solution to Test and Prod environments where there are app passes assigned, but I obviously don't have the option to modify the settings of the app.

Now I have assigned an app pass to dev and have been able to change the settings of the app in this environment. As I am unable to see the settings in Test/Prod I hope it's taken it into account.

    Hello @HFG,

What role do you have in test and prod? If you have the System Administrator role, you can make changes to an app that is included in a managed solution, and you should be able to change the app pass toggle.

    Hi @joe_hannes_col ,

I have system admin, but the settings option in the list is greyed out. It seems changing the app in the dev environment has had the desired effect though as I now see users with app passes in the admin centre. I am still a bit worried about the 80 users that are connected with M365 licences only and wondering how I can get it to switch them to an app pass ?
