SharePoint delete method not recognizing path

Hi all,

I am trying to set a flow that when an item get deleted in list A the same item gets deleted in list B. But, apparently the flow fails with the error "Notfound".

Now, I have done another flow that works perfectly for creating and updating the items in list A and B. Even the path code is the same:

Update step code:

"

{
"inputs": {
"host": {
"connection": {
"name": "@parameters('$connections')['shared_sharepointonline']['connectionId']"
}
},
"method": "patch",
"body": {
"Title": "@triggerBody()?['va2g']",
"JobTitle": "@variables('Job Title')",
"CompanyPhonetic": "@{triggerBody()?['CorrelationID']}"
},
"path": "/datasets/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('https://XXXX.sharepoint.com/XXXX%20XXXX%20XXXX'))}/tables/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('XXXXs Contact List'))}/items/@{encodeURIComponent(triggerBody()?['CorrelationID'])}",
"authentication": "@parameters('$authentication')"
},
"metadata": {
"flowSystemMetadata": {
"swaggerOperationId": "PatchItem"
}
}
}"

Delete step code:

"
{
"inputs": {
"host": {
"connection": {
"name": "@parameters('$connections')['shared_sharepointonline']['connectionId']"
}
},
"method": "delete",
"path": "/datasets/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('https://XXXX.sharepoint.com/XXXX%20XXXX%20XXXX'))}/tables/@{encodeURIComponent(encodeURIComponent('XXXXs Contact List'))}/items/@{encodeURIComponent(triggerBody()?['CorrelationID'])}",
"authentication": "@parameters('$authentication')"
},
"metadata": {
"flowSystemMetadata": {
"swaggerOperationId": "DeleteItem"
}
}
}
"

Why is one working and the other not?

    Hi @Joao_Pacheco

    is it possible if you can share your FLOW screen capture.

    Delete item action needed Id of the item to be delete, so in your FLOW that i think should be getting triggered when an item deleted in List A, you first need to query the LIST B to get the item Id for the same item. (Note its not necessary that both list have same id for same item).

    Hi Deepak,

    I get it now, if I want to delete both items I first need to get the ID that links them. This means that i need another trigger than "when item gets deleted" because once the item is deleted, the ID cannot be retrieved anymore.

    Thank you.

    Hi @Joao_Pacheco

    Actually "When an item is Deleted" output provide you with Id of deleted item. so if you want to delete both item here are steps you should follow:

    Trigger : "When an item is Deleted" List 1

    • Use the Id of deleted item (hopefully, i think you are using Id value to link two items in-between lists)
    • Get Items from the List 2 with filter where relationship column value = Id (List 1 deleted item)
    • Delete the List 2 item
