Change a Radio Button choice based on a Previous Field's Dropdown choice.

Hello, all!

I've tried to find my exact situation throughout the Power App universe and so far, nothing.

I have a SharePoint list, I'm customizing the form. There's two columns that need to interact somehow on the Edit Form.
'Technician' column: dropdown, choices are defined within the column, no multiples.

'WorkStatus' column: Choices, display as radio buttons, choices defined within the column.

The company wants the 'WorkStatus' column to update to 'In Process' when a technician changes the dropdown to their name. The Technician dropdown sits on the Edit form with a text placeholder of 'Choose:'. It does not matter which name is chosen; so long as when the dropdown has a value in it, change the 'WorkStatus' column to 'In Process'. It is even OK if this happens after the form is saved - it doesn't have to be real-time.

Sounds pretty straight-forward, right? I've been a solid 9 days on this and haven't come across an answer yet. I'm not great with PowerApps yet, but learning every day. I have a couple of screenshots to illustrate better - has anyone run across this before?

If(!IsBlank(TechnicianDropdown.Selected.Value),"In Process",Blank())

Change your Default property of the Radio Control to :

If(!IsBlank(yourTechnicianDropdown.Selected.Value), "In Process")

These both worked - and they both helped me to understand more about the differences between the default on the CONTROL vs. the default on the DATA CARD. I was getting into such a muddle, all of that was a giant blob of unorganized data in my brain.
