Assistance Required: Displaying Related SharePoint Files in Power Pages Portal

Hello Power Apps Support Community,

I am currently developing a Power Pages portal and am encountering a challenge with integrating SharePoint files related to specific records. I have successfully set up a list that displays these records and have enabled functionalities to create and edit these records within the portal. However, the issue arises when trying to display SharePoint files that are related to these specific records.

Here is the context:

  • The SharePoint files in question are generated automatically by Microsoft Power Automate flows. These flows are triggered by specific events, such as when a row is modified in the related Dataverse table.
  • Once triggered, the flow creates files and stores them in a dedicated folder in SharePoint, which corresponds to the specific record in the portal.

The main challenge is integrating these related files into our Power Pages portal so that users can view files directly linked to each record. Ideally, these files should appear or be accessible in some form when viewing the details of a record in the portal.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance, insights, or examples on how to achieve this integration effectively. Specifically, if anyone has experience or advice on configuring the Power Pages to display files stored in SharePoint based on their relation to records, your help would be invaluable.

Thank you in advance for your support and looking forward to your suggestions.

Best regards,

The article and video below will help you with the setup of Cloud Flows with Power Pages

basically your flow should return the file as data.. I hope this helps

    Hi Oliver,

Thank you for your insight. To confirm we have Document Management etc set up - however, the system is pre built with countless records already in place in folders saved in the Documents section of the site. We have recently just started working with power pages to create a client portal for self service and so far have the portal working as intended minus the displaying of records files. What would be the best way to implement JS?

    Solutions possible here:

    • enable OOB integration between Power Pages and SharePoint, and when saving the records you will have to follow the default structure (basically a folder for each Dataverse record)
    • other option would be using a Cloud Flow (Power Pages triggered) to perform the retrieve of the file and return that to the Portal (requires JS / but it gives you more flexibility)
