I'm facing an issue with a SharePoint list that I hope you can help me resolve. The list has two important columns, "Created By" and "Modified By," which capture the user and timestamp of events. Recently, I developed a PowerApp and Power Automate workflow for the system. The workflow triggers whenever a new request is submitted through the PowerApp.
The problem I'm encountering is that every time a new request comes in through the PowerApp, the "Modified By" column in the SharePoint list shows my name as the person who modified it, even though it should be the person who submitted the request. This is causing confusion and inaccuracies in the record-keeping.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue or might have some insights into why this is happening. Is there a way to ensure that the "Modified By" field in the SharePoint list accurately reflects the person who is submitting the request through the PowerApp?
One idea I had was to create new columns, such as "New Created By" and "New Modified By," to capture the correct user information. However, I'm not sure if this is the best solution or if there's a more straightforward way to address the problem.
If you have any suggestions or have dealt with a similar situation, I would greatly appreciate your input. It's important for our record-keeping and accountability that we get this sorted out. Thanks in advance for your help!
