    Hi,

Did you try to use with port "587". Please note google will be block if you access from PowerApps. Better use with test a/c instead of live or private a/c.

    Regards,

    Hi

    Thanks.

I had tried many different port no. including 587. All did not work out.

Yes, you are right that google sent to me several times to block if it wasn't me.

I will give up using SMTP as it will affect my default email.

Will PG describes the pros and cons of using different email setting, including the potential impact such as SMTP?

Luckily I can handle unforseen situation but it was lucky! Others may be affected.

Please make a note in RED if having impact in the Learn Tutorial, Please. TQ

    Hi,

I got different error when i tested with gmail. Look like current smtp does not match gmail server security control. Event i disabled 2-step verification.

I used hotmail smtp, email is sent but PowerApps show the error.

    SMTP.SendEmail({From:"powerapps@hotmail.com", To:"PowerUser@powerapps.com", Subject:"Power Apps", Body:"PowerApps Issuing"})

Banned error from hotmail if we use smtp setup user name and "From:" name is different.

    Looking answer from PowerApps Team.

    Hi hpkeong,

If you want to send email in PowerApps, you could create the SMTP connection in the connection section. For more detailed information, you could refer to the articles below.

For Gmail SMTP with SSL/TLS encryption (which is recommended for security), the correct port number is 587, not 465.

Here are the correct settings for sending emails via Gmail SMTP with SSL/TLS encryption:

    1. SMTP Server address: smtp.gmail.com
    2. SMTP username: your full Gmail address (example@gmail.com)
    3. SMTP password: your Gmail account password
    4. SMTP Server Port: 587
    5. SSL/TLS: Yes

If you're still having issues after updating the port to 587, you may also need to ensure that you have allowed "Less Secure App Access" in your Gmail account settings. Here's how to do that:

    1. Go to your Google Account's Security settings (https://myaccount.google.com/security)
    2. Scroll down to the "Less Secure App Access" section
    3. Enable "Allow less secure apps" option

Note that enabling "Less Secure App Access" is not recommended for security reasons, and Google may eventually phase out this option entirely. A better long-term solution is to use an App Password instead of your regular Gmail password. You can generate an App Password under the "App Passwords" section in your Google Account's Security settings.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, it's possible that your email service provider or application has additional requirements or settings that need to be configured. In that case, you may need to consult their documentation or support resources.
