Hi,

Hoping someone can help with this issue I am having in Power Apps.  I am getting an error message to say 'Name isn't valid.  Value isn't recognised' and I've tried various things but still unable to fix it? the 'Status' column in the TimeEntries Sharepoint site is a choice box so I am wondering if that is the issue but if I change value to anything

    @hallang -

    • Could you please share the full code (in Text).
    • Is this being applied to the Items property of a Gallery control?
    • Is the Choice column set up in SharePoint as Single Choice or Multi Choice?

    I'm new to Power Apps so I'm not sure about your second bullet.  The choice column is a multiple choice 🙂

    Hi @hallang ,

    TimeEntries.Status.Value refers to every field in that list (it is a Table), so it cannot have a string value to compare with the Switch options you have. I think you need a ForAll in there somewhere, but would need to see your full code,

    In Text please - @Amik asked for this earlier - my post was just to get this moving.

    Switch(
    TimeEntries.Status.Value,
    "Submitted for Approval",
    GroupBy(
    SortByColumns(
    Filter(
    TimeEntries,
    Manager.Email = currentUser.Email && Status.Value = "Submitted for Approval"
    ),
    "WeekStart",
    SortOrder.Descending
    ),
    "EmployeeTxt",
    "Employee"
    ),
    "Approved",
    GroupBy(
    SortByColumns(
    Filter(
    TimeEntries,
    Manager.Email = currentUser.Email && Status.Value = "Approved"
    ),
    "WeekStart",
    SortOrder.Descending
    ),
    "EmployeeTxt",
    "Employee"
    ),
    "Rejected",
    GroupBy(
    SortByColumns(
    Filter(
    TimeEntries,
    Manager.Email = currentUser.Email && Status.Value = "Rejected"
    ),
    "WeekStart",
    SortOrder.Descending
    ),
    "EmployeeTxt",
    "Employee"
    )
    )
    //SortByColumns(Filter(TimeEntries,Manager.Email=currentUser.Email&&Status.Value="Submitted for Approval"),"WeekStart",SortOrder.Descending)
