    Hi @NRGtim,

Did you delete the app from cloud? If so, I'm afraid that this action will permanently delete your app and it cannot be recovered so far. Not only from your account but also from the accounts of all users with whom this app was shared.

    Regards,

Am I to understand that deletion of an app is always irreversible? This seems to be at odds with common practice, where you will find a restore option in a Recycle Bin, or in the case of O365, even an extended recovery mechanism such as the Secondary Recycle Bin.

I don't expect to have an EASY restore option, but it seems to me that deletion of a PowerApp is surprisingly easy to do by mistake.

For example, on my Win 10 Phone, I "thought" I could delete an app just from the phone. I actually deleted it "forever, everywhere" by not reading the warning message sufficiently.

The problem with deletion, is that apparently every other version you have saved also goes away.

Is there a way to protect my app?

Just did the same thing after many hours of work, was there any solution?

    It seemed very easy!

I never found a solution, I was able to recover some of the work, then recreated what was missing.

An annoyance, for sure, but for development work, it might take me a day to solve a particular issue.

From experience in the early days (VB / C) I knew that the lost day could usually be made up in an hour or two, since I was retracing an effective path towards a known solution.

Not much consolation for you, I'm afraid.

What I do is to make "offline" backup copies every day. It's a simple "Save As" to my OneDrive for Business account.

For OneDrive, I have the "Always keep on device" setting applied, so I have a local copy of the app file for redundant backup in case OneDrive loses it.

Also, quarterly backups on a rotating pool of removable drives, just in case. Malware won't get to these easily <g>

The MSAPP files are quite compact, just as long as you don't load them down with media. For example, rather than embed icon images, I use links to an Azure location.

I just deleted an app from teh cloud with no backup and I was able to get the App back.  simply open a support request.  you will need to know the following information about the app:

tenant id, app name and the app ID (of the deleted app).

the App name you will know the ID can be found by clicking on details.

It will be of the form :

    App ID
aaaaaaaa-bbbb-cccc-dddd-eeeeeeeeeeee (this will be letters and numbers)

if you do not know the ID - they should be able to get it back with just the account of the person that created it and the domain of O365.

Once recovered, you will need to change the name back to its original name - the easiest way is to Edit > SaveAs

you will also need to reshare the app with the same people as those features are not restored.
