Hi everyone,
I have a question and am hoping someone can help me decide if creating a Power App is the right approach, or if I should consider other options. PS: I asked a similar question recently but didn't include all the details, so I think it's best to ask anew.
We have a team that generates a CSV file of drill hole locations three to four times a week, containing hole names, x, y, z coordinates (no latitudes or longitudes). One person is supposed to drill these holes, and then another person checks their work to see if the drilling was done correctly based on the x, y, z coordinates.
The person checking the work wants an app on their phone that displays the as-designed drill holes as an image, like the one attached, which will be different each and every time. In this app, they should be able to select a drill hole, enter the as-drilled details, and then export these details as a CSV file.
The key issue is the frequency of this process, which occurs 3-4 times a week, each time with a new set of as-designed drill holes.
I need an app where I can set it up once, and then the team can upload or place the as-designed CSV file in a business OneDrive folder, convert it to a SharePoint list, or something similar. The app should automatically read this data, including hole names and x, y, z coordinates, generate the unique drill pattern, allow each drill hole to be selectable, enable users to enter as-drilled information, and then export this as a CSV file, either through the app on their phone or via a website, all without me having to touch the design of the Power App whatsoever.
The constantly changing as-drilled CSV files and my desire to set up the app once and walk away from it make me wonder if a solution other than Power Apps might be a better approach. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
