Collaborating on Power App - Excel file stored in colleagues OneDrive

My colleague created a Power App and linked this to an Excel file in his OneDrive.
He has given me access to the OneDrive folder and I can access and edit the file in Excel.

But, if I want to add a new table to the Excel file I cannot put the table as a new data source in the app since PowerApps will only allow me to access the OneDrive for Business of my own user, not my colleagues.

How can we solve this?

Thank you for your help.

As you have seen, only the owner of the OneDrive folder can add new data sources to the App.  If you want a new table in the same Excel file, then you can add the data, but your colleague will have to actually add it to the App as a Data source.  You can of course put a new file in your OneDrive, share it with your colleague and add that as a data source in the App.

    Thank you for your help.

Do you have a recommendation how we can collaborate and work out of the same Excel file? Can there be multiple owners of a folder in OneDrive? Long term we want other users to use the app but with different source data files. Is there a way of sharing this data?

You can easily have full edit rights to the Excel file in OneDrive. So you could edit the file and create a new table.  But when adding the connector it will always default to your OneDrive.  So you can edit the file and create the table, but your colleague needs to add the table to the PowerApp if its in his/her OneDrive.
