Hello,

I have built a power apps application that many users use and there is an excel file linked to the app that I have to give edit access to them for so they can see the displayed info on the app.

the problem is I have to give individual access to file (which is annoying ) and the even worse part someone deleted the whole file off my one drive and screwed the app completely.

Is there any other option that I can used the excel sheet without users having the “edit access”? The user is not editing nothing on the app, just viewing info in the excel sheet.

maybe a SharePoint list? See the info in an excel sheet gets updated using flow , I need that same idea going . Any suggestions would be great

Hi @Sahara22 ,

If you really insist on using excel, upload the file to a SharePoint document library, give access to all ppl in your organization and set the file's property so that only you can edit documents in that library.

I believe that this will resolve your problems.

Thanks for the reply back.

how would I add this as a connector ,because SharePoint always says “documents “ and I need “table 1” in that file. Would I add it as a excel connector then?

Is there a better way to do this? Maybe not use excel? The document I have is excel.. any suggestions would be great

Hi @Sahara22 ,

You have to use the Excel Online (Business) connector - it will give you the option to use SharePoint. like I said, ideally you would use sharepoint list directly and avoid the excel file.
