Is the _PowerAppsID_ column mandatory for creating a power app with excel? No custom ID key column?

Like the title says, I don't want the _PowerAppsID_ column in my excel file. I already have a unique ID for every row. Is there a way to change this?

    Hi @Anonymous

If you use the OneDrive connector to connect to an Excel spreadsheet, Power Apps adds the _PowerAppsID_ column and it is mandatory.

If you use the Excel Online Business connector, you can optionally choose to add a _PowerAppsID_ column, or you can specify a user defined unique column. The caveat to this is that Excel Online Business Connector does not properly support numeric and date columns, as highlighted in my post here.

I am using the Business connector, but I didn't see the option to change the unique column in the process. Where can I find the option?

When you add the spreadsheet through the add data dialog, the panel will prompt you to either insert an auto generated id (ie, _PowerAppsID_) or to select the unique column from Excel table.

I do not get that dialogue when opening the excel document. Not for any of the tables

I figured it out. I probably missed a step earlier. I went back and followed it to the letter. For future reference to make it a bit clearer; Data > Add Data> Choose 'Excel Online (Business)' > navigate to where it is stored on OneDrive/SharePoint > Add document > Select Tables > Get Prompted for each table
