Creating Planner using SharePoint list

Hi Team,

I hope everyone's doing good.

I have been struggling to achieve this for the past couple of days. Tried looking at online resources but didn't help me much.

I have a SharePoint list which I would be adding and updating on a regular basis. Based on the added and updated value I would like a Planner to be created. I have developed a Flow but it gives me weird results. For example, I want a bucket to be created if a particular value is not present and if present then creates a task within it.

This is how my flow looks. Any help would be appreciated!

Even when there is an existing bucket it created a duplicate bucket.

Hi Tyson,
I could not see your images. But are you using the Power Automate Desktop or Cloud Flows? if you are using Cloud Flows then you are in the wrong area.
I dont see you images so that I can't have a proper solution. However, I can give you some ideas if applicable:
- Check your conditions when creating new bucket, is that everything correct ?
- Are there anyway for you to verify that the bucket is created or not ? If you can verify then you can add another steps for verifying it before creating it.
- You can store the transaction when a new bucket is created somewhere and then you can look up into that and check if it is existed or not when creating new bucket

Hey Mike,

Thanks for your prompt response, I am using Powerautomate desktop. I think the problem is within the if condition when I try comparing the Filter Array function. For some reason, it compares two different values and then create copies of identical buckets. If you would have seen the image then it would make more sense.

I tried creating buckets and it worked fine.

Great to hear that Tyson,

I am simply curious about your process, since if you just need to create Planner from SharePoint List. It is better to just use Cloud Flow and it is an simpler solution and license.

Hi Mike,

This does not answer my query. The flow I developed is more complex. The example that you sent only creates a task. In my case, I would like to create a bucket, but if the same bucket existed then create a task within it rather than creating a bucket. The task is really simple but I think I am just complicating my flow!!

Hi Tyson,

I was not able to see the pictures you added in the first thread, now I could see it.
Please see the image I attached in below. This condition worked well for me, it does check the bucket by name is existed or not. If not, then it creates a new bucket.

Hey Mike,

thanks for responding. I tried using it, I am now getting a duplicate bucket. So if I 4 values in a planner and then I add a new one in SP, it compares all four values and then creates 4 redundant values in Planner.

Hi Tyson,

I think that I forgot to tell you the last step. Inside my loop for checking the existence of the bucket, I just added only the Set Variable action there, I did not have any steps for creating new bucket.
The step for creating new bucket is outside of the loop so that it will only create one time.
