Send a Responder to Microsoft Form a Reminder to Complete Another Form

I am doing some work on absence reporting for employees. I have created two forms, the first one to report the initial absence and then the second to report that they have returned from their absence and are now back at work. What I am wanting to do is to send a reminder 3 days after the initial form was completed to close their absence if they are back at work and then keep sending the reminder every 3 days. However I want the reminder to stop if they have completed the second form. I cannot compare email addresses from the first form responses to the second form responses as an email may appear more than once as employees may have more than one absence.

I have created a unique identifier question that the responder would create in the first form and then copy into the second form when they complete it.

What is the best way to achieve this?

    My Assumptions:
    You have two SharePoint lists:
    • Initial Absence List: Captures initial absence details, including the Unique Identifier and Absence Date.
    • Return to Work List: Captures return-to-work details, including the Unique Identifier.
Build a flow to send Reminders
    1. Get items from "Initial Absence" List:
    • Use the "Get Items" action to fetch all records.
    • Apply a filter query where Today - AbsenceDate = 3
This ensures you only fetch records where the absence occurred 3 days ago.
    •
    2. Add an Apply to Each from Step 2:
    • Use a Filter Array or "Get Items" action on the Return to Work List:
      • Query for the Unique Identifier of the current record.
    • If no matching record is found (i.e., the employee hasn’t completed the second form), proceed to send a reminder.
