Flow to update Sharepoint List Column "Person" from Form - error when misspell

Hi.

I created a Flow to update a Sharepoint List using a form. Some of the columns on the list are set as "Person", and since i cannot have (or cannot find) that setting on the form, that field is jsut Text, which means that when the person makes a mistake on spelling the name, then the flow gives an error at the "crate item part" and stops.

How can i sort this problem? is there a way to override the format so that it will take the name?

also, another problem, if i have to fill in the form with more than 1 name, it won't take it either.

Any thoughts?

thank you all

    Hi @AgainOpen ,

Your options will be limited in MS Forms.  You will only be able to use a free text field which may result in many errors.  To have multiple names, you can have multiple text boxes or ask users to separate names via a semicolon but again, it will probably result in more errors.

    Is PowerApp an option?

Hi Eric, thank you for your reply. Yes, i thought it was a long shot, but was hoping that there was a step to skip or override info - shame.

PowerApp could potentilly be an option but never used it before. What i have at the moment is a Sharepoint list that we fill in using a form, but also, that form contains info that does not go to the form, but it is used to send certain fields via email to some of the users. Can this be done with PowerApps + Flows too?

    Hi @AgainOpen ,

I would say PowerApps would most likely do what you need without understanding the full requirements.  You can build simple to sophisticated forms/apps and then pass data to a Power Automate cloud flow for integration.

I would recommend going through the MS Learn PowerApps learning path as it is free and a good start.
