Office365Groups.AddMemberToGroup failed Insufficient privileges to complete the operation

Hello,

 

There are no answers for this issue that i could find and hope things have changed now. 

 

The connection account in the app that's used in Office365Groups.AddMemberToGroup has exchange, teams, user and sharepoint admin roles and an owner of the group as well. I am global admin and when i try to add a user using this command, it works. but every time when a regular user role tries to run this command, they get "Office365Groups.AddMemberToGroup failed: { "error": { "code": "Authorization_RequestDenied", "message": "Insufficient privileges to complete the operation.", ....."

 

Any ideas why and how to solve this?

    I think the user firstly needs to be a member of that Group and [possibly] also an Owner of the Group.

     

    I had one of my users tell me they got a similar message the other day but I can't recall the exact error. I'm pretty sure they were trying to add themselves to a particular Group that they weren't a member of currently.

    I know you are trying to help but just wondering about these. I'll contact Microsoft for this and if I find anything, I'll post here. 

     

    If a user need be an owner of the group so they can add other users, what would the use of the connection account be within PowerApps? 

     

    I already tested, yes, it works if an existing user is an owner of the group, but that's not going to help without having a http request sent to the group to make all members as an owner.
