my label text variable display values change in real time on button click when i test the app by hitting the play button, but in the sharepoint form, this dynamic text changing is gone.
also on app start variables dont show up correctly in test mode but do work in the published actual sharepoint form mode
Edit: on testing, it only doesnt work for a certain variable, but works for another variable. what is the code or a way in which i can tell a variables current type? whether it be record, or string or whatever

It will take time to go into effect after publishing customized form to sharepoint? Besides, once a variable is announced in PowerApps, the type is static and cannot change. So what do you mean by "current type"?
