Canvas App Layout Issue (Forms, Containers, DataCards oh my)

I need to create an Edit form with the following layout:

Label1

Label2

Label3

Input3

Label4

[Input4] hours from [Input5] Resource Pool

Label5

Label6

[Label3] & [Input3] are a DataCard as are [Label4] & [Input4].  [Input5]'s label is "Resource Pool".

I was planning on doing something like this:

EditForm

    DataCard_Custom

        Horizontal Container

            Vertical Container

But it doesn't look like I can add the DataCards to the container.  I'm assuming you can't nest DataCards one inside another.

It also seems odd I can't use a layout container directly under a Form.

Is there any way to accomplish this?  Thanks, I appreciate any help.

Did you ever find a solution?  I am trying to do something similar.

Part of my input (to a SharePoint list) would be better formatted as a grid, with labels for the columns (3) and rows ~10).

Two of the columns are to input integers (1-5) and a third for multi-line text input.

At present, I am building this by making the top 3 cards much taller than required, to fit "column" labels.  I remove the datacard labels from the 2nd and third columns.  I tried using containers to arrange datacards, but I cannot get this to work...

I ended up using containers with text entry boxes to arrange the grid.  I use Patch to save the data to SP.  I wish that the layout for DataCards in a Form was more flexible.
