Unable to assign a Task to a user from a SharePoint List

Hi everyone,

This seemingly simple requirement has turned into a nightmare to solve. Your help and guidance is appreciated.

Q) SharePoint List entry is populated from a Power App.
Line Manager column in the SP list should kick off a Flow to assign the Line Manager a series of Tasks.

This is where the problem I'm experiencing comes in. Tasks in Microsoft Planner is dependent on a Group and it's collaborative which means that everyone can see everyone's tasks. It also send out alerts that Admins cannot control. Although this works, it's not ideal that everyone can see everyone else tasks as this is a HR New Starter Onboarding flow.

Microsoft To-do, which is linked to Planner does not appear to give the option of assigning a user to a Task in Power Automate.

Outlook Tasks, again does not appear to grant the option to assign the Task to a user.

SharePoint Tasks appears to be the solution however the service is being degraded by Microsoft.

I just want to create a Task/s and assign it to the user based on a name in a SharePoint list. Can anyone suggest a solution?

I solved this by creating a Rule in Exchange admin center which deletes the Planner Task emails without notification based on the sender and keywords of the Planner Group/it's Tasks.

The outcome of this is Power Automate creates the Planner Tasks from the SharePoint List data and the user assigned the Task is not notified by email therefor they do not receive a link to the Planner where they would actually be able to see all users Planner Tasks which is what I'm wanting to avoid.

Instead the Flow sends the assigned user an email with a link to their assigned To-Do tasks which has no link to the Planner. Likewise, they can also see their To-Do tasks in Teams.
