Dynamics AX 2012 - Can't insert directly into AX Tables - Potential Solutions?

I have successfully installed a On Premise Gateway and connected it to my AX 2012 R2 database.

With AX, however, we can't directly insert records in the tables as functionality would be missed.

What would be potential / standard solutions for this?

I've thought about creating a simple table to insert the records in to and then have a periodic batch job run and re-insert them into the correct tables.  I'm wondering if there are other, potentially, better ways of doing this.

    Hi @bRadlyJames ,

     

    How do you connect powerapps to Dynamics AX 2012? Do you use custom connector?

     

    For the time being, PowerApps don't support the connection with Dynamics AX 2012 except custom connector.

    So if you want to work with data of Dynamics AX, you should try to develop a custom connector.

    I have successfully connected Power APPS to the AX 2012 Database via On Premise Gateway. However, as I mentioned in my original post, you can't insert directly into AX tables so I was trying to think of other options.

     

    I will take a look at the Custom Connector option.  Thank you!
