PAD: which triggers are possible and how to define triggers like "if certain file changes ..."

Hello.
I am thinking about to use PAD and tried Power Automate in a browser and the app PAD.
In the browser version there I found triggers and actions ...
but I want to prefer working with PAD, but there I cannot find e.g. a trigger like

"If a certain file on my computer is changed ..."

As a first flow I want to build:

"if a certain file on my computer changes then send me MessageBox and then copy the latest version of a file to a

different backup-folder"

How can I define such a "flow" ?  Is this possible with PAD ?
Is there a sample which I can copy and modify ?

Another question is: where are my self-defined flows saved ?
e.g. if I want to copy a flow from my computer to another computer or if I want to send it to a colleague ?

Is there a document available describing the way how to define triggers and actions in PAD ?

Or are triggers only possible in the paid version ?

Thanks in advance for help
Best regards

Ottmar

    Hi @Ottmar-Petry

You've got a couple of local file system triggers that might work for your scenario via the Gateway.

But if you are asking about licensing, PAD is free on your PC to build and run locally, but if you want to trigger them from Power Automate, you need a user license - sorry.

I created an idea here https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Automate-Ideas/Schedule-Power-Automate-Desktop-from-within-Windows-10/idi-p/847797 to allow users to be able to automate direct from Windows 10.  If you are looking for this feature please vote for it and leave your thoughts.

Power Automate Desktop Flows are cached to your PC but saved on Power Automate as Desktop Flows.  You can share your PAD with other users but I am not yet aware of an ability to export and re-import.

The user guide for PAD is here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/introduction
