Need licensing advice

Hi everyone!

I need help with choosing power apps plan.

I've build an app in my company with the following features:

- Canvas apps

- It is published in the custom entity

- I've created CDS database

- CDS connects to One Drive, gets data, transforms it and loads to the database

- App gets data from CDS and One drive

I have two users:

One user is admin (app is created in his account).

One user just enters data into the app (I've distributed permissions using Dynamics 365 Administration Center).

Each account has P2 trial plan now. Should I buy P2 for both users? Or P1 is enough considering the features of my app?

Would appreciate any advice!

    HI @Intothemist:

    Are you hesitant to choose which of these two licenses(P1/P2)?

    Do you want to know whether these two users need the same license or not?

    Could you tell me how much CDS database capacity you need?

    Could you tell me whether you only need to run one application or not?

    Firstly, let me introduce the licenses currently available in PowerApps.

    P1 / P2 is the previous license of PowerApps, now they are replaced by per app plan and per user plan.

    I think this link will help you a lot:

    Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate Licensing Guide: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2085130

    Secondly, users do not necessarily need the same license, you can purchase corresponding licenses for them according to their different needs.

    Finally, here is my advice:

    1/From an affordable perspective:

    Considering the situation you described, if there is no requirement for larger database capacity or running more than 2 apps ,it is sufficient to buy per app licenses for each user.

    2/From a scalability perspective:

    Per user licenses allows you to get:

    • run more apps;
    • larger storage space;
    • etc.

    You can refer to the following picture:
