UNIQUE ID concatenate ID issue

Hi ,

I would like to create a DOCID by concatenating the ID column. The values in DOCID is generated from a FLOW using the dynamic content. However, I would like to get a DOCID without a Flow. Thus I created DOCID (test) column which is a calculated type using the formula =CONCATENATE("xxxx - ",ID).

I created another column ID (test), which is also calculated using formula =ID. Then I modified the DOCID (test) formula to =CONCATENATE("xxxx - ",[ID (test)]). It's giving me the same issue.

Some files are updated correctly, however there are some files which give 0 value. Please let me know if you have any workaround/solution. Thank you in advance.DOC.JPG

    Hey @Anonymous

I have made a test on my side and it works as expected with that expression. Can you try to update the expression in the ID (test) column to =[ID]

You can also try square brackets if you are trying to refer to a SP list column.

    Hope this Helps!

    Hi @yashag2255 ,

I tried this before I posted my issue. And did not work.  I read that the ID field is filled ONLY after the item is created. I have to modify the formula every now, (insert a bracket []), otherwise it'll give a null value.

    Hi @Anonymous

ID column is the unique identifier for each record in case of a SP list. This is only created when the record is created for the first time.

If this is about auto-populating the field before the record is created, you can set the "Default" property of the control as:
    Value(First(Sort( SPListName, ID, Descending)).ID) + 1

    Hope this Helps!
