I have a shrepoint list that has approvers names, what I am trying to work out is if there is a way to take that name and resolve it to an email address from the GAL.
Example input from the sharepoint list could be John Smith, I want to resolve that into SmithJohn@domain.com
I can do this with a bunch of variables, splitting and concatenating them to piece together the end result, but surely there has to be a more 'simpler' and effective way to do this.
The end result will be to use the name in the approver and backup approver fields from the sharepoint list as recipients in an email. The approvers will be internal domain and could even be a shared mailbox like PartsMarketing which would resolve into PartsMarketing@domain.com
Any help you gurus can provide would be greatly appreciated.
