Incorrect date format now shown in all apps

I found today that all of my apps have switched date format from UK (dd/mm/yyyy) to US format (mm/dd/yyyy). The apps themselves have not been changed for several days and the many date fields they contain all use the same default ShortDate format.

I have reviewed the browser's Language settings and these are correct, and I have tried the apps in both Edge and Chrome, but both display the same issue. The change in format breaks much of the validation code, so I need to get this working properly as soon as I can.

It appears that the app behaviour has changed in the past 2-3 days - but is there anything else I need to check before I try to update the apps' many date fields to force the format?

We have the same issue and had to format each date field to UK... super annoying 🤬🤬🤬

Chrome locale is managed by GPO and the language is set to en-GB correctly, users are unable to change it. All apps are affected on all computers and terminal servers.

You can verify that Chrome is set to en-GB by entering this into the console in Chrome: navigator.language

The studio shows the correct format, it's the web player that is causing issues.

zYx_1-1674140698178.png These are two different VMs. Chrome 109 is causing some chaos so we had to roll back to 108 (VM on the right) and I thought that the language issue is to do with that, but no, it is not.

In the image above, I demonstrated a test canvas app where you ca see what language is detected and what language Chrome is set to.

@zYx Thanks for the confirmation that it's not just me. I will begin updating the apps to force the format.

I notice we do not have a reply from Microsoft on this yet.

Any updates on what is causing this within the webplayer.

We are not getting the issue on Androind/Ipad etc as they use an App not webviewer.

Also clearing the site cache seems to resolve temporarily so assume something cookie/cache is using the wrong language.

Clearing the cache doesn't seem to fix it for us.

Because of the issues this was causing (eg, date filters returning wrong records, date validation failing), I went through all my apps and changed every instance of a date to use an explicit format ("dd/mm/yyyy"). It was painful, but less painful than dealing with user issues and data corruption while waiting for Microsoft to fix it.

Your post has been tagged as a solution? lol

Who gets to say it's a solution. It's a workaround at best and not good for us. We have 20+ apps and 100's of date controls and filters that use dates.

Exactly, not sure if it was the author or one of the forum moderators, but this is definitely not a solution.

We also have many apps with many date controls and filters, which took the time we don't have to rectify hence why I reported it to Microsoft.
