I am unable to recover saved changes to my app from proir versions. While developing i have seen that Powerapps automatically saves app but it is not always reflecting in versions.

The automatic saving won't be saved as a Version in PowerApps. The automatic saving has the condition that you need to remain it is the last edited one until your last closing. That is to say, if you didn't save the app and then you opened another app, the automatic saving will not be saved as a version. And you can only recover the last version in have manually saved by clicking on the "Save" button.
Only below Save button will save the app as a verison in PowerApps.
