A to Z ComboBox(with external data) Setup in a data card

Hi All,

I'm struggling in setting up a combo box in my form which list items from a sharepoint list different from the one that its is updating:

SP1  : is the Sharepoint list where the form(form1) is submitting its information

Card1 : is the card that I'm trying to update with the selected items of the ComboBox1 (associated to Column1 in SP1)

ComboBox1: is the ComboBox inside Card1 (multiple selection) from list SP2:

     Sort(Filter(Distinct('SP2',ColumnX),Not(IsBlank(Result))),Result)

Sp2: is the sharepoint list where the ComboBox1 is listing its items from.

ColumnX: is the column of SP2 where the items are located.

for now, the ComboBox1 is showing what it needs to show and I'm able to select the items, but I tried different ways with no success for transmitting ComboBox1 information to the Card1 thus to the SP1. I would need the help in setting the below:

1- Card1 Default

2- Card1 Update

3- ComboBox1 Default (if any)

4- ComboBox1 DefaultSelectedItems

thank you,

One more information... The Card1 type is MultiText card (is it a problem?)

    Hi @YkUser,

Could you please tell me if the column type of the column1 in SP1  is a Multi-line-of-text?

Do you want to update the Multi-line-of-text column1 in the SP1 based on the ComboBox populated with items from SP2?

If so, you should set the Update property of the data card1 as below:

    ComboBox1.Selected.Result

    Default property:

    ThisItem.Column1

    ComboBox1 DefaultSelectedItems property:

    ThisItem.Column1

Thank you, @v-qiaqi-msft  for your reply,

and I did as you said , but the app is not accepting  the ComboBox1 DefaultSelectedItems property:

    ThisItem.Column1

any idea how i can troubleshoot this?

    thank you,

    Hi @YkUser,

    Try as below:

    [ThisItem.Column1]

Hello, tried it and now the combo box is saving only the last selected item...

i think the problem is in the update function, but still not able to get around it.

    thank you,

    Hello Qi,

I got it sorted out,  I set parameters as below:

    1- Card1 Default: ThisItem. 'Column1'

    2- Card1 Update : Concat(Combobox1.SelectedItems,Result & " , ")

    3- ComboBox1 Default : (empty)

    4- ComboBox1 DefaultSelectedItems : Filter(Sort(Filter(Distinct(SP2,ColumnX),Not(IsBlank(Result))),Result), Result in 'Column1')

thank you for you support and help,

    regards,
