Can we add attachments in the Email during Start and Wait for Approval ?

Hello Community.

I recently faced a business issue.

When an Invoice is uploaded to  a sharepoint drive that flows triggers and extracts the Invoice Amount, now I need to send an email to the Approver, but my issue is - The approver wants to see the attachment as well as add a new revised invoice / signed invoice and approve it ?

is this case possible ?

If yes how to achieve this ?

I'm able to figure out on how to add attachments over email, but how to receive over email, store it and show the next approver both the attachments.

I have attached the flow that I'm currently working on.

Thanks,
AJ

The image of your workflow doesn't show the configuration of any of the actions, so it is not too helpful. Since you say you figured out how to add the attachments, I don't understand your issue since I cannot see the configuration. I mean, this doesn't make sense and contradicts itself: "I'm able to figure out on how to add attachments over email, but how to receive over email, store it and show the next approver both the attachments."

If you are adding the attachment in the approval like this, it will get sent to every approver.

If you are asking how one approver can add a new attachment to an approval process that has already been initiated, that's not possible. To do something like that:
    • You would need to break the approvals out into separate approvals.
    • You would most likely need to change from a document library to a list with attachments. If an approver needed to add or change an attachment, they would update the attachments in the list item.
    • Then for every approval, you would get all of the attachments from the list item and add them to subsequent approvals.

    Hi David_MA

Thank you for replying to my post.

I might not have been clear, sorry about that. But I understood what you mentioned.

To achieve what you mentioned, would you suggest a single flow or would you suggest multiple flows and combining with using parent and child flow's ?

    Regards,
    AJ
