Different question related to searching in a sharepoint

hello,

i have a sharepoint file with some simple text columns and a multiple line column with rich text.

Inside my gallery i have this code

Sort(
 Search(
 myData,
 	Search.Text,
 	"Title",
 	"Detail",
 	"Description",
 	"Tag"
 	)
 ,
 "Title",
 If(
 SortDescending1,
 Ascending,
 Descending
 )
)

on my sort icon i have

UpdateContext({SortDescending1: !SortDescending1})

i have few questions:

  1. clicking the sort icon won't sort... why?
  2. inside the search function, specifically in the first parameter, what is the difference in writing [@myData] and just myData?
  3. how to manage large datasets with over 2000 records? i've read tricks like using the Startwith, but this won't allow to search for instance in the middle of a string
  4. inside the description field it allows me max 255 chars, how can i increase the number?
  5. the search works when i test it on pc, but it won't work on mobile (allow only search on title") why?

thank you

    Hi @Antonioclk ,

    1\clicking the sort icon won't sort... why?

     Please try this formula

    Sort(
     Search(
     myData,
     	Search.Text,
     	"Title",
     	"Detail",
     	"Description",
     	"Tag"
     	)
     ,
     Title,
     If(
     SortDescending1,
     Ascending,
     Descending
     )
    )

    2\inside the search function, specifically in the first parameter, what is the difference in writing [@myData] and just myData?

    In your formula, there is no difference.

    3\how to manage large datasets with over 2000 records? i've read tricks like using the Startwith, but this won't allow to search for instance in the middle of a string

    Please try this formula:

    Sort(
     Filter(
     myData,
     	Startwith(Title,Search.Text)||
     	Startwith(Detail,Search.Text)||
     	Startwith(Description,Search.Text)||
     	Startwith(Tag,Search.Text)
     	),
     Title,
     If(
     SortDescending1,
     Ascending,
     Descending
     )
    )

    4\inside the description field it allows me max 255 chars, how can i increase the number?

    No. It is by design, but you could use 'multiple lines of text' instead.

    5\the search works when i test it on pc, but it won't work on mobile (allow only search on title") why?

    Maybe you could use an other mobile phone and try again.

    Best Regards,

    Bof
