Hello,

is it possible to build a PowerApps, which for example is monitoring several IP-Adresses, and make a PingTest every 10 minutes to see if they are still active?

If there is any other method within the realm of PowerPlatform would be appreciated.

Obviously RPA can does that with no problem, it's widely used for this scenario.

Other thing I can think off is Power Automate and using HTTP request for external API that pings addresses for you. (which is not ideal because it will be blocked by firewall if you want to monitor your network).

But doing so every 10 minutes would generate at least 1000 actions a day per single IP address.

So your ask is quite sophisticated, and as you can see by the number of responses - this is not a popular thing to do in Power Apps 🙂

Hi @Venoo, thanks for the response. I got your point.
PowerAutomate is defintely enough if it can work out, but as far I can find, there are only HTTP request based on rest api. I just want to send a ping and if I don't get a signal then its a fail.
Is this still possible without sending a "GET","POST" etc.?
I can minimize the frequency to a minimum which hopefully won't stress my PowerAutomate daily available api quotas so much.

Well it looks like I know what I am talking about but never tried such scenario.
All I know it's impossible to connect to network with power platform other than REST API.
You can use external connectors to achieve that, but this will require power automate license and connector provider's license in most cases.

One extra thing that comes to my mind is quite cheeky - create batch file that pings ip and saves results in log file on one drive.
Power automate would catch update of file on one drive and paste values into SharePoint list.

So this might be quite complex to achieve, but it's not completely impossible
