how to monitor unsuccessful buttons flows

ReportReport

Hi

Is that a way to run a report or get the details of any time a flow is unsuccessful due to individuals not having the right privileges to run it when they click a button?

This will help me get an idea of how big of an issue it is for individuals who are unable to run the flow.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge there is no "out of the box" report that will have the information that you want.  An M365 Admin can likely generate a report from various logs.

As an alternative, you might want to rewrite your Flow to write to a log somewhere (like a SharePoint list) when the Flow fails.  An easy way to do the is to place all your actions in a scope.  Then, use the Run after feature to write to the log when the Flow fails.

    Hi

What does M365 Admin stand for?

Any additional resources on how the M365 admin can obtain this data would be useful.

Also, the current flow sends my team an e-mail if it fails after being triggered. Unfortunately, the AD group provided to my team doesn't contain all of the personnel who may want to interact with the flow.

    Thanks

When I say M365 Admin, I am referring to  someone who has administrative privileges or permissions in your Microsoft 365 tenant.  There are a wide variety of admin permissions but a Global admin can assist.

Can you explain a little more about your use case?

    How the flow works

    • Within a Power BI report, users can select from a variety of metrics.
    • The selected metrics are sent to the Power Automate visual when the user click the flow button. This requires the user to have the right credentials to run the flow otherwise the button will display a “unsuccessful” message. I am currently unable to track unsuccessful activations of the flow.
    • The power automate visual takes that data and runs a paginated report.
    • The paginated report output, is sent to the user as a PDF
