How to build a simple form with PowerApps?

Can anyone please advise on how to build a simple form with PowerApps?

This is how the form looks like right now:

I want to:

  1. Get rid of the vertical bar (!?)
  2. Get the first field to occupy the whole width of the from

But no matter what I try the form always looks stupid, for example, if I increase the width of the first field, the second row is vertically dis-aligned:

If I increase the width of the email field, it "jumps" to the 3rd row (and now it seems impossible to get it back to where it was):

I just need a simple form. The first row should have 100% width and the remaining rows should be horizontally distributed.

No vertical scroll bar. Items aligned vertically.

Is this possible, at all?

Thank you!

Change your columns in your Form to a higher number.  You currently only have 3 columns in the form.  Bump up to 12 for maximum flexibility.

I hope this is helpful for you.

Thanks a lot, but it didn't help:

It doesn't appear that you resized your datacards or moved them where you want.

If you want your top field 100%, then resize it to all 12 columns.

If you want the second row of fields all together then resize them to be no more than 2 columns wide (as you appear to have 6).  Make sure you also remove the attachments field from your form as I noticed it was in the pictures and, unless you need it, it will consume a large chunk of the form.

    What issue are you having?

How do I tell the form fields "your width is x columns"?

I'm using the mouse to drag it to the right and it seems very erroneous..

Is it possible at all to design a perfect form with PowerApps or do we have to live with cranky ones?

    @WebPortal

You don't tell it so much.  You will see that as you drag the width, it will snap to each column (this is a feature of the Snap to Columns).  When you hit the right side, your datacard is now consuming however many columns you have defined for your EditForm.

If you have the form set to 12 columns, then you will see the datacard snap 12 times (actually 11) as you change the size from the far left to the far right...each one is a column.

YES, you can build beautiful forms in PowerApp with the EditForm.  Not so much with the standard look of it, but you can augment it.  I have a complete video on this exact topic that covers everything you ever wanted to know about EditForms, Styling EditForms and Augmenting EditForms.  The only bad news is that it is still being edited and is not published yet.  But feel free to subscribe to the channel so you get notified when I publish (hopefully this weekend).  That video will blow your mind on all the things you can do with EditForms!

Okay...I finished it and published.  Take a look and hopefully it will open your eyes to some great things you can do with EditForms.

LOL!!  I hope you get a lot out of it.  It's a long one, but there is a handy table of contents to help jump around as you need to.
