Hi All,
I am having trouble understanding the intended way to develop in powerapps.
I come from a software background (familiar with version control) and I would like to have two separate environments where I can test changes to the backend tables as well as frontend UI for my app. The app is a highly customized version of the Employee Ideas starter app.
I have tried creating a separate environment, but my org does not allow this. Creating a separate Teams team which in turn has its own environment created for it works, but when attempting to port the app over I ran into a whole slew of dependency issues that made me think this was incorrect. Creating a separate private development Teams Channel allows me to save a copy of my app as "Appname [DEV]" for example, publish this to that channel, and make independent changes, but I have no way of reconciling this version of the app with the original, and I don't think database changes are siloed in this way.
Please, if anyone has advice on the best way to do version control I would greatly appreciate it. The current app is being used internally and I do not want to develop on the version that is actively being used. Thank you!
