Windows Store app issues?

It seems the Windows Store app has more issues that either the web player or IOS app. Some of our issues:

1. This one mentioned in this thread. Users keep getting error that app can't install. Sometimes closing Player app and re-opening fixes sometimes it doesn't.

2. Performance issues with app player not evident in other methods like web player. My app would hang on trying to do a refresh and opening web player on same machine worked immediately.

3. Why does the Store player inisist on showing a massive list of not relevant template apps. The IOS app just shows you apps you have access to?

I guess my question is whether the Windows Store App is really meant to be used to run apps like IOS one or not? You can't edit in it?

    Hi @BrianHFASPS ,

    Yes, we have deprecated the authoring capabilities of the PowerApps for Windows since June 1st 2018. The PowerApps Studio for Windows is available to download from the Windows Store and can be used to play apps.  With a large majority of our users preferring to use the web studio over the legacy PowerApps Studio for Windows, we are focused on the web studio which allows us to innovate faster and makes sure every maker can always use the latest features. So we would suggest to use web version compared with Windows studio.

    Regards,

    Mona

    Just to be clear the official recommendation is to not use PowerApps from Windows Store anymore? I can't find an app called PowerApps Studio?

    @BrianHFASPS

    The PowerApps App in the store is a Player...not an editor.  Editing is done in Power Apps studio - which is the web browser! There is no app for editing.

    That is what I thought but the previous answer was confusing. However it still seems like Windows Store app is less maintained than other platform apps or web player. As evidenced by growing thread of people saying it doesn't work right now.

    Unfortunately the web player does not support offline scenarios, so there is still a need for the Windows Store App player (which also doesn't currently support offline scenarios due to a long-standing bug, but apparently that is expected to be resolved in the next few weeks).

    Hi All,

    The link to the following thread is now marked as solved. That should hopefully assist with this thread as well.

    Thank you,
