Overdue reminder using power automate

Hi there,

I am looking to create a power automate flow based on a SharePoint list.

In my lists, I have a date column called 'Risk Review Date' in which my team members must review the risk they input into our risk register. I currently have flow which sends the risk owner an email to update on this risk, however I want to create a new one to send an email to the risk owner when their risk review date is overdue by 1 week.

I have attempted it below however when I save it I am met with the warning: Action 'Get items' does not have a limiting folder parameter, filter query, or top parameter. Updating action 'Get items' to use OData filter queries can improve the performance of your flow.

When I try to add dynamic content to 'Get items', it says "There is no content available."

Please can someone help me resolve the issue with the dynamic content or alternatively suggest a simpler/better flow?

Thanks!

    Hello, please see the below and let me know if this works for you.

    I created a test list

    Here is the flow

    For Filter Query please use

    RiskReviewDate lt '@{addDays(utcNow(), -7)}'

    You can copy paste this in the field and it should show up like this

    I have used apply to each control to loop through the filtered items

    Inside the loop, use the "Send an email" action to notify the risk owner.

    Let me know if this works.

    Thank you so much, that worked!

    Just a quick question - what exactly did you mean by: "I have used apply to each control to loop through the filtered items"

    Still trying ot get to grips with the terminology etc.

    Thanks,

    Sam

    @samraby4

    Sorry for the delayed response,

    The "Apply to each" control allows you to perform certain action(s) on each item in that filtered from sharepoint list , one by one. So in the flow i provided, after getting the filtered list items with RiskReviewDate older than 7 days, the "Apply to each" iterates through each of those filtered items and performs the "Send an email" action for each item.

    in simple terms: there might be multiple RiskReviewDate older than 7 days on the same day, it will send email to each of them, thats the reason we use Apply to each.
